Why pay money to see Hugh Jackman in X-Men Origins tomorrow when I can go to Cincinnati and see the real thing? Wolverine who? (Thanks BK).

7 Dish Vegan Meal = Delicious Food Coma
Joshua Ploeg is a vegan chef who currently splits his time in Sacramento working for private clients and local shops, and touring the country planning private dinner parties. He went from touring in punk bands to showcasing his skills around the country as a traveling chef. (Joshua from my last experience, 2004)
He was in Richmond last night as part of a book tour, and decided to host a dinner...

Lost Pilots
Sorry for the Greg Grunberg & Jeff Fahey fans out there, but this post has nothing to do with the show LOST, but instead with lost tv pilots.
In college there were constant rumors about a lost tv show so unbelievably perfect that I obsessed for hours searching for what I considered to be the holy grail (at that time) of Internet videos: Heat Vision & Jack. A pilot created by Ben Stiller...

An Improv(ed) Trip to NYC
I took a trip to New York last weekend to finally see my brother’s new Improv group, The Spinoffs. I was also able to convince my parents to go up, as they had yet to see him perform, and missed the last time I went up. Riding up with my parents saved me some money on travel, although somewhat complicating things by adding an additional stop in DC to the trip, but I’m glad it worked...

Congrats to The Robber Baron/Spinoffs members Shannon Coffey, Dan Klein & Eddie Brawley who appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Friday (w Mario Lopez!).

What's on My Ipod? - Podcasts
I’ve been on a huge podcast kick recently, fueled somewhat by my friend Ryan Muldoon who I think is one of the funniest people in Richmond. He suggested a few of the following, which I added to my lethargic list of podcast subscriptions. Now I’m afraid I’ve got way too many to knock out in my current lifestyle. Maybe I should start driving a bus or pick up a night shift in order...

Sure, he’s related to me by blood, but I gotta support Rob Michael Hugel, who I convinced to join Tumblr this weekend. He’s in NYC and is a triple threat in this video. Che-che-check him out (and his Improv group, the Spinoffs) #TumblrTuesday

From OverheardInNewYork.com
Girl #1: This whole Ben situation is really starting to piss me off.
Girl #2: I know! I just don't know what his deal is.
Girl #1: He called me like twelve times yesterday.
Girl #2 (stopping in the middle of Penn Station): He called you? (pauses for a moment) Oh, you mean Ben your boyfriend, don't you?
Girl #1: As opposed to?
Girl #2: Ben from Lost.
Girl #1: Don't talk to me for an hour, please.

Somehow I missed the fact that Jim Jarmusch has a new movie coming out next month (May 1st) called The Limits of Control. And it features Bill Murray. What have I been doing recently? (thanks to Susan for this)

Austria sends woman to jail for threatening Caruso
VIENNA – An Austrian court has convicted a woman of threatening “CSI: Miami” star David Caruso and sentenced her to seven months in jail in a secure psychiatric unit, officials said Wednesday.
A court in the western city of Innsbruck handed down the sentence Tuesday, court spokesman Thomas Lechner said.
Lawyer Andreas...

I also met Weston at SXSW. He and everyone else at Funny Or Die are doing the best comedy videos on the web, and it’s a little curious why they weren’t part of the Web Comedy Panel. ANYway, they continue to crank out some amazing stuff, like this one. Follow him to stay on top of it, and whatever secret project he’s working on. #TumblrTuesday

NYC This weekend - Need More Comedy
I’m headed to NYC this Friday to see my brother perform with his new Improv troup. Since the last time I saw him, he’s helped form The Spinoffs, who have been staying busy recently with weekend shows. .
They perform Friday 4/17 at Gotham City Improv, show starts at 8:30. Who knows what else I’ll have time for, but maybe I’ll see you there?
(Congratulations to...

Weekend Posting
A rare weekend post amidst a busy weekend. I’m following my friend The Hermitologist’s BLOG TIP #87953 and posting my nonsense on the weekend, when no one will read it. So here’s what distracted me this weekend:
Friends birthday pizza feast with a custom Denise Merrill cake. Bought a few plants for my garden (Dino Kale & Space Saving Cucumbers)
Worked on my TV show spec...

Danny McBride skates in Virginia
blaaahg:
Matt told me to peep the Lakai website, they posted a video of Danny McBride in a short film he did. If you don’t know who Danny McBride is by now then you’re living under a cave. And to make matters cooler, the whole thing is shot in parts of Richmond and Virginia. Props.

The A.V. Club Kills My Day, Again.
Thanks to The A.V. Club for consistently interviewing the people I’m interested in that week. For my money, them and Elvis Mitchell have the best interviews around.
This week check out:
