iStream Bad Veins New Album
I promised I’d bring some more music into the mix over here. I’ve been listening to the new Bad Veins record non-stop since I got it the other day. You can stream it via the link below, or just go buy where ever records are sold. blackirismusic:
Image by thetripwire iMeem has been kind enough to offer Bad Veins new album (to be released July 21st) for streaming to your ear holes....

Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox
Leave it to Wes Anderson to take stop motion to a place that it hasn’t really gone in a long time, while still maintaining the “Anderson Aesthetic” (like it or not). The cast is also pretty rad: Owen Wilson, George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray. I’m officially stoked. (via John Merriman)

#TumblrTuesday spotlight on William Wilkinson, a student/graphic designer from Canada. His posts jump from design with clean aesthetics to film and television, thereby falling right into my realm of interests. This post of a video shot with a Canon 5D Mark II is a perfect example (though I have my own personal complaints with the piece). willw:
Solitude
Ugh, I want a 5D Mark II so bad.

blip.tv: the next generation
I’m looking forward to jumping into the “show creator dashboard” with Blip.tv. It seems like Blip is one of the most innovative platforms out there right now and with the distribution deals they announced today it looks like they’re in a great position moving forward. I will have blip in mind for any future web series. tanya77:

IAC, Ben Silverman Announce Partnership →
I’m very interested to see who else they recruit for this (these?) all-star team(s) of media heavyweights. It seems that some pretty exciting things are going to come from this. rickyv:
Welcome to the team, Ben. This is going to be even more fun than I previously thought.

Tron: Legacy Trailer →
Tron Legacy Teaser - My jaw dropped at how amazing this looks (I decided not to embed the lower quality version, just click the link). Cineblend reports that this is still just a souped up version of an effects test from last year turned into a teaser for Comic-Con (as 2.0), but looks amazing. This movie is relevant to MOST of my interests.

HELL. YES.

Rob Huebel + Aziz Ansari team up with The State/Reno 911 members Tom Lennon and Ben Garant to remake Point Break. I was re-watching Point Break just the other day for homework, and think this version may unintentionally have better acting. robhuebel:
Little video we did for Mean Magazine with Tom Lennon and Ben Garant.
My Gary Busey impression has won several awards, so fuck you.

Listen Up! - Follow the Blaaahg.
For #TumblrTuesday the amount of awesome stuff that The Blaaahg brings me daily is out of control. They have their eyes on all aspects of art, music, film, design, culture, skateboarding, fashion and more and it’s presence in Richmond and New York. Definitely worth the follow, although the occasional post may be NSFW, it typically doesn’t come through the dashboard. Plus they brought...

In my opinion, the marketing for Funny People has been an awesome example of “viral” marketing. From the clips of Yo Teach to the George Simmons website (Adam Sandler’s character) which featured clips from 3 of his fake movies, and posters for 5 others (I would pay to see him with Owen Wilson in “My Best Friend Is A Robot”) to Randy’s website and documentary...

This Eclectic Method Back To The Back To The Future video is amazing. After watching I wanted to go back and watch the similar Tarantino Mixtape, and then realized Eclectic Method did that one too. caseydonahue:

Emmy Congrats
Congrat’s to Asa and Drew on being nominated. The Lonely Island is one of the most consistently funny groups around right now. - In the interest of full disclosure, I helped Black Iris put together this blog, but that doesn’t make the news any less awesome.

It’s our proud honor to announce that when the 2009 Emmy Nominations went out this morning, tucked in amongst...

Ze Frank's That Makes Me Think Of... →
Good morning Sportsracers, it’s Tuesday, and you know what that means… Sorry, enough of that; I channeled a little Ze with my enthusiasm for another #TumblrTuesday post. Jessicat earned her spot today by constantly posting on some of my favorite topics. This Ze Frank link beat out the Bill Murray photo by a hair. I’m also stoked that Ze is getting paid for what he does....

Funny People’s - Raaaaaaaandy Documentary Part 1 (NSFW) is finally released. Aziz Ansari and Jason Woliner set a pretty high bar for Funny People to live up to. wintercheck:

Dan Klein’s “Funkytown” College Humor audition. I’m looking forward to seeing him with The Spinoffs at the Del Close Marathon in August, and perhaps in Robber Baron at UCB soon, if I can figure out how to be in NYC on a Tuesday night. streeter:
I’m a big Dan Klein fan. We met on the set of All RA Floor and got along instantly. This is his CH Originals audition, which...

Tom Scharpling Interview
Poster by Neil Numberman
I know I wrote about Tom Scharpling, the self-dubbed “Golden Prince Of Twitter” earlier in my podcasting post, but I can not stress enough how amazing his show The Best Show is. I’ll reiterate that everyone should make the weekly commitment and listen on Tuesdays from 8-11 EST at WFMU.org. For those with time constraints they offer podcasts of The...

What Is Paul? - The Site, the Movie.
The Website for Paul is a pretty awesome experiment with social media. Directed by Greg Mottola, and written and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, they have done a good job at connecting to the fans and posting constant web updates from the set. They’re using Flickr & YouTube to foster the community they’re building. Lance Bangs is directing the behind the scenes videos, so...

How to get my music for free:
Allison Weiss seems ahead of the curve in terms of promoting yourself as an independent musician. Any aspiring independent artist should follow her and take note of what she’s doing. allisonweiss:
In this day and age, paying for music makes you a saint. Not all of us can be so awesome, so here are some ways you can obtain my songs at no cost!

Screenwriter John August sits down in this ~2 hour interview chronicling his career and advice on screenwriting. He discusses Go, Big Fish, The Nines, and more. If you didn’t see his pilot The Remnants starring Ernie Hudson, Ze Frank and Justine Bateman you should also check that out. This massive video should make up for my current comedy obsession and lack of writing posts.

GPOYW - Back from the Beach
-Gettin’ a liiiitle bit pink. - Photo by Ben Gathright
Although I wish I was still at the beach, I decided to take GPOYW and make it a Gratuitous Post On Yourself Wednesday and talk about what’s kept me busy lately.
Aside from work, which pays the bills and keeps me hella busy 9 to 5, I’ve been jumping back and forth between a number of writing projects and aspirations.

RAAAAAAAANDY's Website Launches! →
RAAAAAAAANDY’s website finally launches. Even if Judd Apatow’s Funny People isn’t the best, it still brought us Re-Do, Yo Teach!, and Raaaaaaaandy. But given all this, how can it not be great? azizisbored:
Visit the official homepage of RAAAAAAAANDY, my character from Funny People.
