The Velvet Teen - No Star

Unfortunately, amidst all the craziness of last Thursday, I missed The Velvet Teen open for Minus The Bear. Was luckily enough to grab a copy of their latest EP, No Star, that I’ve had on repeat ever since.

Few people know (or justifiably CARE) that the last time The Velvet Teen played Richmond, August 13th, 2004, was the impetuous for the original incarnation of Hit Play. Since they couldn’t get a proper show in Richmond, Cam booked them during the day at Plan 9. I thought it was a shame that a band as great as them couldn’t get a real show setup and we set out to figure out how to make more happen in Richmond, teaming up with Paige, who was considering getting out of the game. The rest, as they say, is boring history.
