TCGS #20 - SIBLING RIVALRY
Tom Scharpling, host of the Best Show on WFMU, has agreed to appear on The Chris Gethard Show, with the special request that Gregg Gethard, Chris’s brother and a regular caller of The Best Show, appear as well. After Chris explained to Tom that he and Gregg have a sometimes tense relationship, Tom offered to provide them with free untrained family counseling - and the Sibling Rivalry episode was born. Besides Chris and Gregg, Tom works his wares on Eliot and Ilana Glazer, Kevin and Will Hines, and Banana Man and Banana Girl. On top of that, two Spider-Men fight with bats, the five year old calls the show again, and Brick and Mortar bring the heat with their musical performance!Subscribe on itunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-chris-gethard-show/id446647559

Breaking Soap Opera News of the Day: ABC today dealt a harsh blow to soap opera lovers still reeling from the loss of Guiding Light and As The World Turns, announcing the cancellation of two additional long-running genre icons — One Life to Live and All My Children.
“Each of the shows has touched millions and millions of viewers and informed the social consciousness,” said ABC’s President of Daytime Programming Brian Frons in a prepared statement. “It has been a privilege to work with the extraordinary teams who brought the residents of Pine Valley and Llanview to life each day, and we thank the cast, crew, producers and most especially the fans for their commitment to the shows through their history.”
One Life to Live debuted on ABC in 1968; All My Children in 1970. Both are slated to be replaced by talk shows with the hopes of capitalizing on the success of The View.
